Goldfish help quick!?

I have a pond in the back garden and today found a kingfisher trying to take the goldfish and as i went over i found a small goldfish which has a wound on its side where i can see a bit of flesh but it is still alive i am a fisherman so have put some fishcare on it which i take fishing but not sure if there is a better thing to do at the moment i have put it into a tank hoping it will recover it is moving a bit and trying to right itself but its not at 100% any help?

Can you separate him? If you shure is a wound then with betta fish Aquarium salt will help just to clean the wound and work as a preventative for infection. I research and find out that goldfish very tolerable to Aquarium salt too. Check this site : http://www.kokosgoldfish.com/saltastreat…
Also i would separate the fish from other just to make sure he don't have any infection from the wound . You want to be sure that other fish don't get sick. Because the fish can get fungus from wound or bacterial infection.

So if you can put him in the smaller container and do Aquarium salt treatment. You can buy it in the any pharmacy or pet store. It about $4.

You need to pre - mix 1 tsp/gall of the aquarium salt in 1 gall jug for the right dosage and do daily 100% water changes for 4 days . Increase up to 2tsp/gall for 6 more days. Aquarium salt treatments should be no longer then 10 days.

Also are you sure he has a wound? Because you saying he trying to right itself but not 100%. Sometimes when fish has SBD they bloated and can't swim straight. Then Epsom salt not Aquarium salt recommended.

Also if you don't want to do aq salt then more water changes will help.

Let me know if you need my help. I never had a pond i am giving to you this information from my experience with betta fish. And like i said if you look up the site i gave you i found out that you can treat goldfish with Aquarium salt too. Not all fish tolerable to salt though.
